Privacy policy
German-PKV.de does not itself offer insurance advice, insurance brokerage, financial advice, investment advice, legal advice or tax advice.
German-PKV.de is not an insurance broker, insurance agent or insurance consultant within the meaning of § 34d of the German Trade Regulation Code (GewO).
Our activity is limited to providing general information and calculators and to putting interested persons in contact with independent or specialised cooperation partners. Individual advice, review, recommendation or brokerage of insurance or financial products is provided exclusively by the respective cooperation partner, provided it is legally authorised to do so.
In short: this website sets no advertising cookies and loads fonts locally. Calculators run only in your browser. If you complete a check or submit a form, we pass your details on to a specialised cooperation partner so that it can deal with your enquiry.

This privacy policy applies to the website german-pkv.de (German-PKV.de).
2. Hosting and server log files
The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit it, Netlify processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, page requested, referrer, browser information) in server log files in order to deliver the website and protect it against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (secure and stable operation). A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with Netlify. Transfers to the USA are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, in addition, on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. According to the provider, log files are stored only for a short time.
3. Fonts, cookies and local storage
All fonts are hosted on our own server; no connection is made to Google Fonts or other font services. We use no cookies and no tracking or advertising pixels. To make the website easier to use, we temporarily store in your browser's session storage which campaign (UTM parameters) brought you to us and whether you have already sent an enquiry. This data only leaves your device when you submit a form and is deleted when you close the browser. The legal basis is § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for the service you requested) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
5. Calculators, checks and enquiry forms
Calculators on this website run exclusively in your browser. Your entries are not transmitted to us.
Checks and forms: If you complete a check or submit a form, we process your details (first name, email address, phone/mobile number, your answers in the check, the resulting evaluation, the page and campaign you came from, and the date and time) in order to send you your result and the requested report and to forward your enquiry to a suitable cooperation partner. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract). We do not ask for health data; please do not include any health information in free-text fields.
Disclosure to cooperation partners: German-PKV.de does not itself advise or broker. Your enquiry is passed on to a specialised cooperation partner – usually an insurance broker licensed under § 34d (1) GewO – who discusses your result with you and contacts you by email and phone. The cooperation partner then processes your data under its own responsibility; it will also provide you with its own privacy information and the statutory initial information. Data is passed on to insurance companies only by the cooperation partner and only if you instruct it to do so.
Checking your contact details: So that your result arrives and the partner can reach you, we check your email address and phone number for plausibility while you type (format, area or country code, common typos, disposable addresses). For email addresses that do not belong to a well-known email provider, your browser also asks Cloudflare's DNS service (Cloudflare, Inc., USA; EU-US Data Privacy Framework) whether the domain can receive emails. Only the domain name (the part after the @) and your IP address are transmitted, not the full address. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (avoiding incorrect or abusive enquiries).
Personal result and personal PDF: After you submit the form, your browser shows your result on a separate page. The data for this is kept only in your browser's session storage and deleted when you close the browser window; it never appears in the web address. Your browser creates the personal PDF locally on your device – your details are not transmitted to us for this. To create it, your browser loads the pdf-lib library from the cdnjs service (Cloudflare, Inc., USA; EU-US Data Privacy Framework) when you click the download button; your IP address is transmitted to Cloudflare (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Technical service providers: Form data is received via Netlify Forms (Netlify, Inc., USA; spam protection partly via the Akismet service) and passed on to our systems for handling and forwarding enquiries. Data processing agreements are in place with all service providers. Transfers to the USA are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Storage period: We store your enquiry only as long as necessary for forwarding it and for the related records, at the latest 6 months after receipt, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
6. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process your details to deal with your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR).
7. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21). Please contact the controller named above. For data that the cooperation partner processes under its own responsibility, you can also exercise your rights directly with the partner.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence.
8. Obligation to provide data and automated decisions
Providing data is voluntary. Without a first name, email address and phone/mobile number, however, we cannot process and forward your enquiry. The evaluation in the check is a non-binding, automatically calculated orientation; no automated decision within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
As of 13 October 2026. We update this policy when our processing or the legal situation changes.
